Wat Po is popularly known as the Temple
of The Reclining Buddha, as well as being Thailand's first
open university under the King's patronage. Many fields of
knowledge and technology for those days were gathered here.
There are various field of knowledge such as history, religion,
literature, arts, culture, medical science, physical therapy
and pharmacy. Today, the well known Wat Po's Thai Traditional
Medical and Massage School is also located here. One reason
of its fame is the old and famous Thai Traditional Massage
School to which many Thais and foriegners go for taking courses
and treatment.

Wat
Po was large innovated in 1836 during the reign of King Rama
III. By a roval decree, inscription, relating to artsand sciences
such as medical sciences and pharmacology. There are 60 pictures
of Traditional Thai Massage which include lines and points
on human body, 80 statues of Yoga each of which represents
different self-massaging and stretching positions with different
curative effects, and some of 1,100 formulas of recognized
herbal medicines are illustrated. All those who ever want
to acquire good knowledge and self health care can come in
at his ease. These inscriptions are published in textbook
form by The Wat Po's Thai Traditional Medical School. |
Most
of them are recognized by The Ministry of Public Health to
be the official textbook, and some are translated into various
foreign languages.
Massage is a method of treating illness that has been used
successfully for a very long time, in fact for more than two
thousand years. But as social conditions changed and new methods
of treatment became instutionalized, massage disappeared from
many societies as a form of treatment. However, the practice
of massage for treating physical ailments still continues
here today. The Wat Po's Thai Traditional Medical and Massage
School offers courses on Thai Herbal Medicines and Pharmacy,
Thai Traditional Medicine and Practice, and Thai Traditional
Massage.

We offer Traditional Thai Massage Therapy
Training from the famous Wat Po Thai Traditional Massage and
Medical School in Bangkok Thailand. We use instructors from
Wat Po School Thailand to keep our training of the highest
standard possible, we offer training every 3 months. Our intention
is to have schols and students trained in Traditonal Thai
Massage Therapy throughout Europe, using this very effective
form of therapy for Health, Healing and relaxation.
